More than
Behavior Management
The Nurtured Heart Approach® (NHA) is more than just a parenting behavior management strategy. It is a philosophy for creating healthy relationships with the people in your life. It was originally developed for working with the most difficult children but it has become a powerful way of bringing inner wealth to all children while facilitating parenting success.
Every Child
It has a proven, transformative impact on every child, including those with behavioral diagnoses such as ADHD, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Reactive Attachment Disorder – almost always without the need for medications or long-term treatment.
Nurtured Heart Approach Training with Me
As a parent, you’ll start with the primary Nurtured Heart Approach methodologies of making 3 stands. Together, we’ll brainstorm and create your own guidelines as you commit to:
Neutralize Negative Behavior
I’ll train you to refuse to give time, energy, and relationship to negative behavior. You’ll learn how to avoid accidentally fostering failure or rewarding problems by responding to them in animated ways.
Energize Positive Behavior
You’ll learn to relentlessly and strategically pull the child into new patterns of success. I’ll give you guides on how to constantly
recognize the success and achievement that children are displaying no matter how small.
Fair and Consistent Boundaries
I’ll help you to develop clear and consistent consequences for children when a rule has been broken. “Here are the rules, and here’s what happens when you break a rule.”
Is this for you?
My 6-week program is ideal for parents who have school age children and are looking to create a more harmonious family life, build the inner wealth of their children and strengthen their relationships. It’s never too late to start!
What You Get
In my 6-week program, you’ll receive six weekly meetings at your chosen time. This is a one-on-one program, so you won’t waste time listening to situations that don’t apply to your family. You and your spouse will have my undivided attention.
Along with the weekly meetings, you’ll also receive a Nurtured Heart Approach textbook, workbook, and valuable PDF worksheets. These resources will help you brainstorm ways to implement this approach so that it serves your unique goals.
How is it Different?
Most approaches are designed to improve communication, manage behavior or teach social skills to target specific realms of problematic actions that children are manifesting. This approach shifts the target away from problems and into greatness. It inspires children to use their intensity in great ways, while awakening them to the greatness of who they really are, helping them to take charge in leading passionate and purposeful lives.
My 6-Week Program
Your Family + The Nurtured Heart Approach
It’s one thing to read about a new parenting approach and another to integrate it into your family life purposefully. With my six-week program, we’ll take it step by step, helping you apply the nurtured heart approach, reviewing your successes, and building the positive habits that will make parenting fulfilling and fun. Here’s how the program works.
Week 1 – In week one, I’ll introduce the Nurtured Heart Approach at a high level and the three stands of the nurtured heart approach. Then we’ll start with a tough one, “Stand One.” We learn to refuse to reward negativity with energy, connection, or relationship. We’ll discuss how to apply this to your family and how to implement it into your daily life.
Week 2 – In week two, we’ll share successes from the previous week. And then we’ll dive into the nurtured heart approach stand number two, called “Absolutely Yes.” You will learn how to create and give attention to positivity and success relentlessly. We’ll discuss what this means and how to use this in your family while choosing where to focus your energy in the following week.
Week 3 – In week three, we’ll share successes from the previous week and then learn about the four Nurtured Heart Approach Recognitions. Various studies back the efficacy of these recognitions, so we’ll learn how to use them with your children daily.
Week 4 – In week four, we’re at the midway point. So we’ll recap what we’ve learned about “The Three Stands” and “The Four Recognitions of the nurtured heart approach. Then we’ll dive into Stand number three, called “Absolutely Clear.” You will learn to set and enforce clear limits and clear consequences. You’ll also learn how to provide a true consequence and about the idea of “a reset,” and how to implement it with your children.
Week 5 – We’ll share successes from the previous week and review the Three Stands. Then we’ll dive into an in-depth study of stand three and the “reset”. Together, we’ll continue to work on shifting ur mindsets and work on internalizing the approach so that we can apply it consistently.
Week 6 – We’ll share successes from the previous week, review the Three Stands and the “Reset”. We’ll wrap up our work together by learning to “Notch It Up” with an energizing circle and greatness coaching.
Success With The Nurtured Heart Approach
Lisa was so gentle in her approach and willing to answer and explain with no judgement or criticism to other ideas. For me the Nurtured Heart Approach is so powerful because it gives me the tools to help the children in a way that raises them up instead of crushing them down. It is bringing my idealism to life in a practical way.
Preschool Teacher
I really enjoyed the different examples and personal experiences on how to reset a difficult situation and how to look for the positives. I can tell how passionate Lisa is to the approach. My favorite part of the workshop were the short videos during the slide show and the activities we did with our partners because I was able to get other opinions and great ideas.
Teacher
Thank you, Lisa, for bringing out the best is all of us, focusing on the positive moments, and truly nurturing our hearts!
Teacher
The biggest thing for me was the amazing difference that this approach made with my son – who my husband and I have given up hope on. I was thinking “I’m not the mom for this kid. I don’t know what to do!”
So the nurtured heart approach turned all of that around and told me that I AM the right mom for this kid.
Actually, it’s even better than I ever thought it was going to be. I can be a better mom than I ever thought I could be because of this!

ParentThe information was clear and concise, and Lisa was so helpful to clarify any information with examples. This presentation was thoroughly informative and enjoyable, and I am so excited to implement this technique in my classroom and in my home!
Teacher + Mother
Lisa was very patient and took the time to acknowledge everyone’s questions and experiences. I found this a valuable tool to be able to use both in my classroom and in my day-to-day personal life.
